from chefs Thomas McNaughton and Ryan Pollnow, is finally bringing its Italian food to North Beach, the historic Italian American neighborhood of San Francisco. By the end of 2023, the chef tag team plans to open a new “flagship” location that will be the pizza dough hub for all future pizzeria satellite locations, according to“The setting and iconic North Beach neighborhood capture the vision we collectively share for Flour + Water Pizzeria,” Pollnow said in a statement.

McNaughton added, “While Flour + Water was born in the Mission, it's always been a dream of mine to open in North Beach, and this location far exceeds anything we could have imagined.” Since 2009, the Flour + Water Hospitality Group , has helmed some well-respected restaurants in the Mission, such as the eponymous Flour + Water, home to very creative pasta dishes, recently opened Penny Roma and the now-closed Central Kitchen. They opened the original Flour + Water Pizzeria on Valencia Street in 2019.

But in May, former business partner David White split from the restaurant group and rebranded the Valencia Street location toThis paved the way for McNaughton and Pollnow to bring Flour + Water Pizzeria to 532 Columbus Ave., just a stone's throw from Washington Square Park in North Beach.
