In a new poll released Friday, Sen. Bernie Sanders holds an edge among Democrats who watched any of last two debates in Nevada and South Carolina.

The polling, however, shows the limits of the debate format in helping voters decide a candidate. Some Democrats have been critical of the debate process and its integral role in the primaries so far, and it appears the majority of Democrats tuned out the last two debates.Entrepreneur Andrew Yang, who ended his presidential bid after the New Hampshire primary two weeks ago, mused after the South Carolina debate this week that the debates may need to be re-examined.

"The utility of tonight was not high," he wrote on Twitter – and this poll appears to show some voters agreed with Yang's sentiments – or skipped out on the debate entirely.'Help me get it.

Of Democrats who watched the debate, a plurality, 39%, said it made no difference in the candidates' abilities to defeat Trump, and 33% said it weakened their ability to defeat him. Twenty-eight percent said it strengthened their ability. Sixty-seven percent of those who watched the debate said it was"useful" to help them make their decisions in the primary, whereas 33% said it was"not useful."

The poll has a sampling size of 639 Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters. The margin of error among Democrats surveyed is 4.5 percentage points, and 6.5 points among those who watched the debates.
