Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Tim Michels widely missed the mark with a claim that previous governor Scott Walker released no one on parole. During his two terms, the parole commission released nearly 1,400 people through parole.

a claim by Evers that he has issued more pardons than"any Wisconsin governor in contemporary history."To be sure, the number of people eligible for parole has been declining. Indeed, parole only applies to individuals sentenced for crimes that occurred before Jan. 1, 2000.
