Because, as Beth notes, there are still divisions amongst allies and the pace of what happens will be decided not in Europe, but by Washington, which supplies 70% of defence spending to NATO.

The PM is also asked whether he would make the same remarks as Ben Wallace on Ukraine showing more gratitude for weapon deliveries. He said the summit is a"meaningful success for Ukraine" and President Zelenksyy is bringing home a"significant security victory" from the summit - and he said he is"very proud" of that.

Mr Sunak's five priorities are halving inflation, growing the economy, reducing debt, cutting NHS waiting lists and stopping small boat crossings in the Channel. Mr Sunak says the government should have a"responsible approach to fiscal policy" and complement what the Bank of England is doing.
