Police: Woman forced into BART elevator in sexual assault attempt

The attempted sexual assault occurred just before midnight Oct. 6 at the Walnut Creek station, police said.

The attempted sexual assault occurred just before midnight on Oct. 6 at the Walnut Creek station after both the suspect and the woman got off a train bound for the San Francisco International Airport, according to BART Police."The victim fought off the attack, escaped and reported it to BART police," a report posted in Saturday's police log said.

BART Police issued a"be on the look out" message with description of the suspect; a police sergeant identified him on Saturday, Oct. 15, and he was arrested. The suspect could face multiple charges including assaulting another person with the intent to commit a serious sex crime.
