Officers carried out an urgent search of the area and were assisted by a police helicopter

Lancashire Constabulary told LancsLive how officers were called to Roe Lee Park in Blackburn on Monday evening . Pictures from the scene, taken at around 5.30pm, showed a least three police vehicles parked on a street next to the park off Whalley New Road and Brownhill Drive.

A police helicopter was also pictured flying overhead as an urgent search of the area was carried out. Police said "no-one was found" and no injuries or arrests have been reported.In a statement, a force spokesperson told LancsLive: "This was a report of some men armed with machetes, but we carried out a search and no-one was found."
