A train caught fire in Leeds on Thursday morning
Emergency services rushed to Leeds train station on Thursday morning following a fire onboard a train, police confirmed.
British Transport Police were called to Leeds station shortly before 8am on October 5 following reports of a fire onboard a train. West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service also responded. Passengers were evacuated and trains were delayed and cancelled in Leeds this morning as major disruptions were caused to services following the chaos.All lines were reopened around 9am, there had been up to 40-minutes of delays for some passengers.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers attended Leeds station at around 7.50am this morning following reports of a train fire. Fire crews also attended, passengers were evacuated and the fire was extinguished."
