Officers made high-value raids in Greenock, Dundee and on the A74(M)

Police have swooped on a dilapidated building in Greenock and seized a haul of cannabis valued at over £160,000 in one of several high-value drug raids made this week. Officers were tipped off to the plantation in a disused building in Nicolson Street in the Inverclyde town at around 6pm on New Year's Day.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged incident and was expected to appear in court earlier this week. The public has been advised to expect an increased police presence in the area while the cache of drugs is removed from the property. "A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the recovery. He is expected to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Wednesday, January 4. Police activity is expected to continue at the premises in the coming days and the local community is thanked for their understanding.”

There, they impounded cannabis with an estimated street value of £70-90,000. A 33-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the alleged find and is expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court at a later date.
