The operation was prompted by intelligence regarding unlicensed guns linked to a recent cash heist. Police recovered various firearms, ammunition, and a stolen motor vehicle during the course of the operation.

"Upon arrival at the first identified location within the Wasbank policing precinct, police arrested a suspect found in possession of unlicensed firearms, namely a 9mm pistol and an M4 rifle, along with a motor vehicle reported stolen in Hebron, Gauteng, and a quantity of ammunition," he said.
