ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — A man is facing a slew of drug and firearms charges after police arrested him following a lengthy foot chase through downtown St.
Royal Newfoundland Constabulary arrested the man around 7:15 Wednesday evening after a lengthy chase.
Following the arrest, police said officers searched the man and found a quantity of drugs, cash and a loaded firearm. The man is facing charges for the possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone, hydromorphone and methylphenidate. Additionally, he was charged with careless use and unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm knowing its possession of unauthorized, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a weapon with ammunition, possession of firearm with altered of defaced firearm and resisting and obstructing a peace officers.
The man has since been remanded into police custody and will appear in provincial court at a later date.
