The 64-year-old Burnaby resident was walking along Euclid Avenue near Tyne Street when he was viciously attacked.

Police say the man, a resident of Burnaby, was walking along Euclid Avenue near Tyne Street at 10 p.m. when he was viciously attacked by another man..

The attacker fled when two people came to aid of the victim, who was taken to hospital with what police described as life-threatening injuries.Vancouver Police Const. Jason Doucette said the two men were known to each other.“This assault occurred in a busy neighborhood where we would typically see many people walking and driving in the area,” said Doucette.

VPD detectives would like to speak to anyone who has dashcam video and was driving in the area near Tyne Street and Euclid Avenue between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on March 23. Anyone with information or video is asked to call the VPD’s major crime section at 604-717-2541 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
