Police ready for elections with 'zero-tolerance' for disruptions, including truck blockades
Deputy National Commissioner for Policing and Special Operations, Lieutenant General Tebello Mosikili, says police are satisfied with their operational plan for the 29 May general elections.
There will be"zero tolerance" for any threats, intimidation and closure of roads before, during and after the elections, the police have said, after reports that a group of truck drivers have threatened to close roads. On Sunday, just 10 days before the hotly anticipated national and provincial elections, Deputy National Commissioner for Policing and Special Operations, Lieutenant General Tebello Mosikili, briefed the media on the National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure plan for the elections.
