Police investigate after man's body found in Mission Hills parking lot [Breaking]
San Diego police homicide detectives were investigating after a man’s body was found in a Mission Hills parking lot Sunday afternoon.
The man had suffered injuries, and investigators considered his death suspicious, homicide Lt. Steve Shebloski said. Someone found the body about 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a businesses on San Diego Avenue near Pringle Street, Shebloski said. Investigators believe the body had been there for one or two days, if not longer, and had not been discovered because the businesses was closed for the holiday weekend, the lieutenant said.
Little was known about the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, Shebloski said. Detectives were working with investigators from the county Medical Examiner’s Office to determine if the man’s injuries were pre-existing or related to his death. Shebloski said it was difficult to determine at least in part because the body was exposed to “extreme” heat over the weekend.
The man was not immediately identified. He appeared to be between the ages of 35 and 50, Shebloski said.Anyone with information about the death was asked to call the San Diego Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 580-8477.
