Mr Gilbey sadly passed away on Wednesday morning after a 'fall from height' at a workplace in Campfield Road, Shoebury, the force said. They are now working with the Health and Safety Executive on a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The 40-year-old TV star was known for his appearances on shows such as Gogglebox and Celebrity Big Brother. He leaves behind a large family including a young daughter, reports Essex Live.On Thursday Essex Police announced in a statement that it had made a single arrest in connection to Mr Gilbey's death. A man in his 40s from the Witham area was arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter.
That man, who has not been named by police, was held in custody until this morning when he was released. Police said in an update that he remained under investigation and that their enquiries would continue. A spokesperson for Essex Police said: "As part of our ongoing investigation into the death of a man in Campfield Road, Shoebury, on Wednesday 27 March, a man aged in his 40s from the Witham area was arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter.
"He has now been released under investigation. This is a joint investigation with the Health and Safety Executive and our enquiries are ongoing."
