Police officers and firefighters have since cleared the neighbourhood
At around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sault Fire Services responded to the 100 block of Chapple Ave. for reports of smoke coming from a second storey apartment building.
After arriving to the neighbourhood, there was no smoke visible in the area, and it did not appear any damage was done to the outside of the structure.A number of officers and cruisers were witnessed investigating an apartment building near the corner of Chapple Ave. and Allard St., including the Sault Ste. Marie Police Tactical Unit.We will update this story as more information becomes available.
