Columbus police are planning to release body-camera video of a deadly confrontation between an officer and a knife-wielding man. Investigators said a CPD officer shot and killed the man who allegedly charged him with a knife.
Also on Monday, police are expected to release the name of the man who was killed during Thursday's confrontation on the city's east side.Police were called to the Nelson Road area on a report of a man with a knife who was cutting himself and fighting with the person who made that 911 call. The confrontation with the armed man began moments after officers arrived. Investigators said he approached them, ignored commands to stop, and told officers to shoot him.Neighbors weren't sure what to make of it all.
