Police in the Free State in Bloemspriut in Bloemfontein clamped down on three illegal shebeens yesterday. In a statement, the SAPS says the closures followed a series of complaints and concerns raised by the local community about the negative impact these unlicensed establishments had on the area.Bloemspruit took decisive action by closing down 3 illegal shebeens.
Officers discovered over 150 litres of distilled alcohol, along with counterfeit bottles of popular brands. Member of the Mayoral Committee on Safety and Security, JP Smith, says the city will work with law enforcement to clamp down on illegal activities.
