After the driver of a Rolls-Royce Ghost was unable to provide insurance documents, their car was seized by the UK's Manchester Police and is now being auction off 'for a bargain price.'
It’s not often that the police offer you a deal, but the Greater Manchester Police are rolling out the red carpet – or should we say, the black one – for a recent addition to their fleet. The British authorities took to social media to announce the sale., valued at £129,000 , will “now be auctioned off at a bargain price soon”
The luxury ride came into the possession of the police force after it was seized in September, following the driver’s inability to provide officers with insurance documents. In their statement, the force mentioned that the supposed owner failed to provide proof of legitimate ownership, a requirement that U.K. citizens must fulfill within 14 days. This means that the GMP will proceed to sell it at an auction.
Based on the black on black on black exterior, I would hazard to guess that the interior is also black, but it is not visible in this shot. While that’s not the most exciting color combination we’ve seen in a Rolls-Royce, it is at least inoffensive. If the police want to hang onto it, it could make a pretty cool squad car. In fact, Rolls-Royce had once covered a Ghost inlivery for an event. Now the Manchester police could have its own high-vis, high-lux patrol car to drive around in.
