The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it needs additional modern equipment and mobility assets in order to further improve its election duties.
PNP chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde said that in the midterm elections last week, they still experienced communication glitches in getting reports and updates from their personnel in the field.
Real-time sending of reports is important as deployment and action depend on the information being fed to the police camps, according to police commanders.Albayalde also identified the need for more ‘mobility equipment’ or transportation vehicles. He said Armored Personnel Carriers or APCs are important in the deployment of police security forces in critical areas under election hotspots.
