SINGAPORE — Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has tested positive for Covid-19 for the first time.
In a Facebook post on Monday , Mr Lee, 71, shared a photo of a positive antigen rapid test which he said he took on the same morning.He was on an official visit to South Africa from May 14 to 16, and Kenya from May 17 to 19. He also attended that 42nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia from May 10 to 11.
He said: “I am generally feeling ok but my doctors have advised me to self-isolate until I am asymptomatic.Paxlovid is an oral medicine used to treat mild to moderate Covid-19 in adults.“Please continue to keep your vaccinations up-to-date, as it reduces the risk of severe illness. As Covid-19 remains endemic in Singapore, we must continue to stay safe and healthy,” he said.
