Plans to build a new sports community hub including a 3G football pitch in Ashton Park are set to be discussed ⚽

The proposal forms part of the Active Preston project in a bid to transform the city’s community infrastructure.

The estimated cost to build the Ashton Park Sports Hub is nearly £9.7m, and the main funding to support this would come from the £20m Levelling Up Fund .Through the LUF grant it would be funded with £7,436,616 and £2,231,884 of match funding including up to £470,000 by Preston City Council.

“The Contribution will support the delivery of the Ashton Park Sports Hub which supports the Council’s ‘Your City’ corporate priorities of ‘securing investment; improving assets and infrastructure; creating a city with a strong cultural and leisure offer’ as set out in Achieving Preston’s Priorities.”
