JOHN'S, N.L. — According to an access to information request filed by the Progressive Conservative Opposition, water bombers in the province were grounded without crews 28 times between July and August this year.

“Speaker, the fire that resulted in a state of emergency in central Newfoundland could have been disastrous for many families,” he said, and asked Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculuture Minister Derrick Bragg why he didn’t hire enough crews.
