Pixar’s Oscar-winning hit “Inside Out” will finally get a sequel – and the storyline will pick up right where it left off inAmy Poehler, who portrays Joy, made a brief appearance at the D23 expo in Anaheim on Friday to announce the news alongside one of the original film’s directors, Pete Docter. The sequel will explore the new emotions of a teenage Riley, introducing a broader cast that has yet to be confirmed.
Kelsey Mann is slated to direct the project, and Meg LeFauve, who co-wrote the screenplay for"Inside Out," will return, as will producer Mark Nielsen, who also worked on “Toy Story 4,” “Cars” and “Up.” Oh JOY! Amy Poehler is back to star in Inside Out 2. Directed by Kelsey Mann, produced by Mark Nielsen, and written by Meg LeFauve, Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 releases Summer 2024.
