Pityana tells Unisa council to quit
This comes after a ministerial task team report placed the challenges faced by Unisa at the feet of council.“I take the liberty of writing to you out of concern, and at times not a little annoyance, at the widespread news in the media about the deplorable state of the university these days. It so happens that I was in Namibia towards the end of last week.
“I went on to obtain three law degrees at the university. Needless to say, it is now 10 years since I retired as principal and vice-chancellor of the university, a time that I regard as one of enormous privilege and a high point of my career. To this day, I continue to hold with pride an emeritus professorship of law from Unisa.
