Former Bafana Bafana coach Jomo Sono says Pitso Mosimane was the best candidate for the Kaizer Chiefs coaching job.
South African football legend Jomo Sono believes Kaizer Chiefs missed out big time on Pitso Mosimane.‘ is the best candidate for the Amakhosi job. The Soweto giants however have opted to bring in Tunisian mentor Nasreddine Nabi as their new head coach. The incoming Nabi has recently concluded his business in Morocco and is expected to touch South African shores this week.
Jomo Sono coached Pitso Mosimane in the 80s and is of the view that Kaizer Chiefs would have been a perfect team for him “It would have been a very good marriage because Pitso has one advantage – he is a hard worker, even when he was a player, he used to stay behind with me and we would work with set-pieces,” said the ‘Black Prince’.“Whatever he has earned as a coach is because he is a hard worker. He has coached at the highest level and I think he should have been given a chance and it would have been a very good marriage.
“But we don’t know what happens behind closed doors. Maybe the dollars were too high or too low,” Sono added.Serial-winning coach Pitso Mosimane, known for elevating many teams to stardom, was previously linked to Kaizer Chiefs. Now, Jomo Sono discusses the match made in heaven.
