Pitso Mosimane: Bafana on the right track, but coach Broos must watch his mouth
Former Bafana Bafana, Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane is back in South Africa as leagues around the world take a break for the Fifa international window.Al-Ahli Saudi coach Pitso Mosimane is convinced that Bafana Bafana are on the right track under Hugo Broos, but cautioned the veteran Belgian coach to be diplomatic in his assessment of South African players and coaches.
Bafana will host the Liberians at Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Friday, before travelling to Monrovia for the return match on March 28.“I think we’ll qualify for the Afcon. We only need four points. And I have watched Liberia play against Morocco. It was when I was in Morocco. We will do well and qualify,” said Mosimane, who was the Bafana head coach between 2010 and 2012.
“But coach Broos sometimes says whatever he wants to say. Sometimes I get taken aback as a South African and as a coach.”Broos is not one to mince his words. In the early days of his tenure, he ruffled feathers when he publicly criticised his employer, Safa, his colleagues in the PSL and players at every opportunity, but the Belgian has piped down in recent months.
