Earlier this week, the Red Devils announced that Mosimane had left his role as head coach after a meeting between the club's board and the South African tactician.
The news came as a surprise to many considering how successful his spell in Egypt had been despite a recent dip in the side's form, with it later revealed it was Mosimane who had requested the termination of his deal. Since his departure, some have speculated the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns boss had fallen out of favour with the dressing room, and Mohamed Omar, a legendary Egyptian Premier League coach, believes Mosimane treated his players unfairly.
"Percy Tau is a very good player, but [Luis] Miquissone hasn't shown good performances with Al Ahly yet, despite that, Mosimane always gave him chances," he said, according to"On the other hand, Mosimane didn't give other players like Hossam Hassan nearly as many chances as he gave Miquissone, which is unfair.
Zamalek currently lead the league standing with 44 points after 20 matches, while Al Ahly are four points behind but have three matches in hand over their fellow Cairo-based rivals.
