June was a month to remember for rookie Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes and his girlfriend, LSU gymnast and social media sensation Olivia “Livvy” Dunne.The couple, whose romance was confirmed last August, also took in a date night as Skenes’ major league dominance continues.He’s 4-0 with a 2.06 ERA spanning nine starts.from St. Louis fans following an impressive performance, in which he threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings in the Pirates’ 2-1 win.
“I had to execute really well. I had get batters out with different stuff each time through the order,” said Skenes, who struck out eight while allowing five hits with zero walks.Dunne, who is coming off a national championship win with LSU, frequently supports Skenes at his games. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model told Bleacher Report in June that she gets “more nervous” watching Skenes on the mound than her own performances.“I get more nervous watching Paul because it’s just different when you’re not doing it and you’re not in control,”Skenes and the Pirates will continue their three-game series against the Cardinals on Wednesday, and he is lined up to start Friday’s series opener against the Mets.
