Earlier in the week, Pirates issued a statement confirming that they would be going ahead with the scheduled training camp match in Spain after controversial statements and calls in Mzansi from the political landscape for the club to boycott the Tel Aviv team. The Buccaneers went ahead with the fixture and beat the Israeli side 1-0 courtesy of new signing Patrick Maswanganyi's first half goal.
