The City of Pickering is awarding three young writers for their animal-themed short stories. This year's Tails of Hope Short Story Contest was a partnership

“We encourage the community to stop into one of the locations to read the stories written by these talented young authors,” said Lindsey Narraway, Supervisor, Animal Series.

“Each story delivers important messaging – Isabella’s story reminds us of the importance of slowing down for wildlife and to not judge a book by its cover, Katelyn’s story shows us how to have compassion for all living beings, and Erum’s story reminds us how our imaginations can often create the best stories.”You can also read the top 17 stories in a compilation book at Pickering Central Library, Pickering Animal Shelter and HiFive Kids.
