Pick n Pay says it has a policy that store managers may impose per-customer limits for items on promotion, if they turn out to be unexpectedly popular.
Pick n Pay said all its pamphlet pricing is subject to stock availability, but the ARB said it could not find such wording in the sheet that advertised the cheap milk.
The ARB"is of the view that 'subject to availability' is not the same as 'limited to xxx per customer', which is what appears to have been in play in the current situation," it said in its ruling.
