Trump pleaded not guilty for 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. A grand jury to voted to indict him last week after hearing evidence that he paid hush money to silence alleged former mistresses in the run-up to the 2016 election and used money from his company, declaring it as a business expense.
Trump arrived in New York City, his former primary residence, on Monday night after flying by private jet from Palm Beach, Fla., where he now resides. On Tuesday, a motorcade took him from Trump Tower, in Midtown Manhattan, to the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse downtown. Small but enthusiastic groups on both sides filed into a park near the courthouse hours before Trump arrived on Tuesday afternoon. The two groups"faced off," divided by police barricades,
