As the country and the world at large celebrate the 105th anniversary of the birth of the late statesman Nelson Mandela, President Cyril Ramaphosa has called on all South Africans to promote peace everywhere.

President [Mandela] said that ‘the heroes are those who make peace and build’. We will continue to follow in his footsteps by calling for political solutions to conflicts.Celebrated on July 18 each year, Nelson Mandela International Day is meant to encourage citizens across the globe to give at least 67 minutes – a minute for each year of Mandela’s public service – of their day to improving the world.
