The large\u002Dscale outages began Friday, but were resolved by Saturday.
Queensway-Carleton spokesperson Ann Fuller said Saturday that staff stepped up to work around the “network core hardware failure, with a delay in redundancy systems taking over.”
“Staff temporarily moved back to charting on paper by hand, and other emergency downtime procedures, such as communication by radio and emergency phone lines. All system, application and phone issues have now been resolved,” Fuller wrote. At the time, the hospital cautioned in a tweet that the situation could “impact wait times in our Emergency Department as the team moves to downtime procedures. Families calling patient rooms or nursing stations will also experience difficulties.”On Saturday, Queensway-Carleton said surgical pre-op calls that were not made Friday would be prioritized on Monday. All appointments were to proceed as scheduled.
