The Durham District School Board says they’re still working to restore services after being hit by a cyber attack.
They first noticed the attack Friday and immediately took steps to secure their network and get expert help. They also notified police and are still investigating and trying to understand the full impact of the incident. All DDSB schools are open Monday, but phone and email services still aren’t working so school may not be able to access emergency contact information.
Parents and guardians are being asked to send temporary emergency contact information with their child to school Monday.All virtual classes and literacy tests are cancelled Monday and most student Chromebooks will not be working.The board says their IT team has been working throughout the weekend and will continue until services are restored.
They add the incident raises a significant privacy concern and more information will be shared when its available.Ctrl+Enter
