Phillip Schofield will be back on our screens again soon
Phillip Schofield might have left This Morning after almost two decades but it won't be long before viewers see him on the screens again. Not only will the veteran broadcaster be back on ITV to host the The British Soap Awards next month but ITV have also teased a brand new Phillip Schofield project.
On Saturday, ITV confirmed he 61-year-old TV presenter will not return to co-host the morning talk show with Holly Willoughby, with Thursday’s show being his last.The broadcaster also confirmed Willoughby will remain on This Morning and will continue co-presenting the programme with other This Morning staff. The announcement follows reports of a breakdown in relations between Schofield and Willoughby.
“I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love. So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future. But ITV confirmed it would continue to work with Schofield, and that there are plans for a "new prime time series".
