Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary pay tribute to Phillip Schofield on This Morning
Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary usually present the ITV daytime show on Friday Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary opened Monday's episode of This Morning with a tribute to Phillip Schofield following his departure from the show.following reports of a rift between himself and co-host Holly Willoughby.
O'Leary continued: "So, as a show, everyone on and off screen at ITV and This Morning want to say a huge thank you to Phil for what he's done to make this show such a success over the last 21 years."Hammond said: "Quite simply, we all know he's one of the best live television broadcasters this country has ever had, and we and all the team wish him all the best for the future.
Former This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes was less complimentary about Schofield when he hosted his GB News breakfast show on Monday. Holmes described her statement as "stabbing in the back" and said his phone was "full of people who are glad to see the back of the two of them".Schofield and Willoughby pictured with the best daytime prize at the National Television Awards in 2019
"I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can't go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.
