It's easy for a politician to promise he'll accomplish things in the distant future, but a mater plan that calls for New Jersey to go all-electric was pulled back by the governor as elections loom next year

When I checked it the other day, natural gas was providing 39 percent of the state’s electricity supply. Nuclear power was providing 32 percent. Another 19 percent came from coal. Among them is Jeff Tittel. The former head of the state Sierra Club chapter was among the environmentalists who blasted the Murphy administration for backing off on the boiler requirement.Tittel told me he thinks Murphy gearing up for a run in the 2024 Democratic presidential primaries.
And at the moment the voters don’t seem to be inclined to accept immediate inconvenience in pursuit of some goal that’s far in the future.
