THE Philippines is one step closer to having 'safe, efficient and sustainable' airports, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said Saturday after meeting with officials from an infrastructure investment fund in the United Kingdom.

The President and first lady Marie Louise 'Liza' Araneta-Marcos are in London to attend the coronation of King Charles 3rd.Upon his arrival at Gatwick Airport, Marcos met with the officials of Global Infrastructure Partners , a leading global, independent infrastructure fund manager.In a tweet on Saturday, the President said he learned valuable insights that could help improve the airports in the Philippines.

Joining the President in the meeting with GIP executives were Philippine Ambassador to the UK Teodoro Locsin Jr., House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista.Marcos' meeting with the GIP officials came days after Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 was hit by a power outage that caused flight cancellations on Labor Day.
