The pair have insisted they would “never jump a queue” 👀

A petition to see Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield 'axed' from ITV's This Morning has hit 35,000 signatures as the backlash continues over accusations they jumped the queue' to see the Queen lying in state.

Laura Harrison, who started the petition, said: "If you agree please sign. If enough people sign we can show ITV that the public do matter." During a special This Morning episode reflecting on the days since the Queen’s death, Willoughby said in a voiceover: “Like hundreds of accredited broadcasters and journalists we were given official permission to access the hall. It was strictly for the purpose of reporting on the event for millions of people in the UK who have not been able to visit Westminster in person.

“However, we realise that it may have looked like something else, and therefore totally understand the reaction. Please know that we would never jump a queue.” Their This Morning colleague Alice Beer was also fast-tracked to pay her respects to the Queen with her media pass, and she was quick to insist she didn't "queue-jump". Speaking to Holly about the experience on the ITV daytime show, Alice said: "Incredible. Just before dawn I was allowed into an appointed slot in Westminster Hall.
