Durham’s new Chief of Police is listing trust, community partnerships and modernization among his biggest priorities for the next year.“Trust is built with consistent actions and it can take time to build trust,” he said. “It can also be fragile and easily undone. We know that fostering trust amongst our citizens in this diverse and rapidly-growing region requires consistent effort and a commitment to partnerships.

Other ongoing priorities listed by the new chief were gun and gang crimes, road safety and disproportionalities in the amount of crime affecting women, children and seniors.“To the members of the Durham Regional Police and all those in policing across this province, nation and beyond, always be safe,” said Rollauer. “Always be healthy.”
