Pest controller ranks Sudbury No. 3 as ‘bed-buggiest’ in Canada

Sault Ste. Marie is the only other Northern Ontario city in the top 10 of Orkin Canada’s 2022 list

It’s that time of year again. No, not the start of spring, although that is also a thing that is happening now. No, we’re talking about Orkin Canada’s list of the bed-buggiest cities in the country.

For the fourth straight year, Toronto holds the title of the bed-buggiest. Sudbury actually improved its ranking this year, dropping from second place in 2021 to third in 2022 — go team! Sudbury wasn’t the only Northern Ontario city to make the top 10 either. Sault Ste. Marie came in seventh.“Bed bugs are known to live where there is a steady supply of food, and move from room to room through clothing, personal belongings, vacuum cleaners and infested furniture, making homes, hotels and businesses ideal spots,” Orkin said in the news release.

Orkin Canada said the data used to build the list of the bed-buggiest cities are based on the number of commercial and residential bed bug treatments carried out by the company in 2022 .
