Sandra Wheeler’s 60th birthday gift sent her along the runway at Strathallan Airfield and up into the skies above Perthshire
A fearless Perth woman plummeted out of a plane to raise vital cash for a much-loved and well-used local charity.The adrenaline-fuelled fundraiser loved every second of her skydive and it certainly ticked off a personal ‘bucket list’ ambition.
“I thought, if I didn’t do it now, I was never going to. It was great. I absolutely loved it. I always loved doing dare-devilish things. So it was a wonderful boost when the generosity of family, friends and the wider public shone through in the donations.“I was surprised at what we did manage to raise,” a delighted Sandra told the PA. “It really was good.”
They provide opportunities for therapy, achievement, enjoyment, improving health wellbeing and self-confidence as well as benefitting mobility and co-ordination.“I can see what the children get from it and the benefits the horses give them.”
