Mini Reshuffle to Tanzanian Govt PortfoliosPresident Samia suluhu Hassan has dissolved the Ministry of Finance and Planning, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and created three new portfolios: Office of the President Planning and Investment Ministry, Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Tanzania Daily News reports. Mwigulu Nchemba will keep his position as finance minister but without the planning mandate. The reappointment of the Minister of Finance is in accordance with the National Planning Act of 2023 and the decision to relocate investment affairs to the president's office. Former Member of Parliament, Kitila Mkumbo is the new Minister of State in the President's Office Planning and Investment. At the same time, Ashatu Kijaji has been retained as the Minister of Industry and Trade. The changes were announced as Suluhu Hassan left for a three-day visit to Malawi, from July 5 to 7, 2023, where she attended the country's 59th Independence celebration.
