Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Shaun Permall has shared his thoughts about the goalkeeping department, which has been under scrutiny at Naturena.
The decline of Itumeleng Khune may look to have caught Amakhosi by surprise as they've been struggling to find the perfect replacement for the veteran shot-stopper. The club's current goalkeepers include Daniel Akpeyi, Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Peterson, who have been used in different games. Khune's contract was extended by two years. The former striker believes Khune, with his reputation and achievements at Naturena, has reached the end of his time at the club and now Amakhosi need to redirect their focus to the other goalkeepers.
"Personally, I think Khune is past his best, I take nothing away from what he has done for the club in the past, but like everyone before him, it is time to move on," Permall told the Siya crew. "Brandon has always been a good keeper, he has really matured over time since he was at Ajax. Both he and Bvuma are good enough to run things from the back."
