The Club of the Century got back to winning ways with 2-1 win over Al Mokawloon thanks to an early goal by Ali Maâloul from the penalty spot, before Farouck Kabore put the ball past his own keeper.
The win means the Red Devils remain undefeated in the Egyptian Premier League and have stretched the gap between them and second-placed Pyramids to five points.The win was also the perfect occasion for South African striker Percy Tau, who featured for 87 minutes, to celebrate his inclusion in the Bafana Bafana squad for the first time since June 2022.
The Egyptian giants have so far struggled to stamp their authority in the Champions League group stages, collectingjust four points from their three outings.
