they’re concerned that Canada’s $4.5-billion mental health transfer will be delayed by at least a year because a key report isn’t going to be ready on time. Advocates and policymakers said they received an email on Jan. 18 from the Standards Council of Canada saying its report on national mental health and addictions standards won’t be completed until March 2024, a year later than planned.
