The Department of Defense is not 'currently pursuing' back pay for unvaccinated and terminated troops, despite signaling that it was exploring the issue recently.
The Pentagon saysfor troops fired for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine is not off the table but is not under active consideration, in a reversal from an earlier statement by the department.
"We are not pursuing, as a matter of policy, back pay for those who refused the vaccine," said Ryder.Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin "The Department is still exploring this and will provide its views on legislation of this nature at the appropriate time and through the appropriate process," said Dietz to Fox News Digital Tuesday morning.
