Washington The Pentagon identified on Sunday the two soldiers killed in a roadside bombing in Afghanistan this weekend.
Staff Sgt. Ian P. McLaughlin, 29, of Newport News, Virginia, and Pfc. Miguel A. Villalon, 21, of Joliet, Illinois, were killed in the bombing, the Department of Defense said in a statement. They died Saturday when their vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device in the southern province of Kandahar. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident, which is currently under investigation.
