The dog survived and will stay overnight with local vet as a precaution
A pensioner whose dog was attacked by an off-lead dog outside a shop in a Co Down town, wants to thank the person who came to their rescue.
A relative of the OAP contacted DogLovers NI for help to track down the good samaritan, and said: "I am hoping you might be able to help me try and find the members of the public who helped an elderly relative and his dog this morning - Friday, March 8. "After ensuring all would be OK at the vet, they then drove my relative home. Thankfully, his dog is going to be OK but had to have stitches and antibiotics but has been kept in to stay overnight. "If you might be able to share this in the hope they might come forward privately so my relative could properly thank them for going above and beyond I would be most grateful. "
